Art
If you’ve been following my socials or seen a review copy of the book, you’ve probably seen the illustrations I made for it. These are all little standalone vignettes that were best told visually, and I had a lot of fun creating them. They’re now available as limited edition fine art prints on my website, and if you’re in the Bay, they’re up on display at Cafe Suspiro. There’s also $20 risograph prints at the cafe and at Dog Eared Books on Valencia. The fine art prints (which turned out luxurious) were made at Electric Works, and my friend Sarah Maloney (awesome comic artist) helped me get the risographs colored and printed. I love supporting local artists and small businesses, so these prints feel really good to have out there in the world — but they’re also (hopefully!) going to help fund my travel this summer! So, take a look, and know that each purchase really, really helps me out! (Also, this is the first time I’ve built an online shop with this platform, so PLEASE let me know if you have any technical difficulties <3)

From my TBR: The West Facade by Lauren C. Johnson
“In Paris, at the dawn of the Bubonic Plague, the statues that guard the Notre Dame Cathedral are forbidden from experiencing human pleasures…”

My friend Lauren’s debut novel The West Facade came out last month and the little peek I’ve had so far is so luscious I can’t wait to take it with me on the airplane to Chicago. Let’s read it together this summer?? And come see Lauren in the lineup with me at The Racket on May 26!
That’s all for now —
