Angry and fed up with livestock rustlers, a group of Montana ranchers and range detectives decided to administer its version of payback and justice."Stuart’s Stranglers.”

Rustlers were also the target of a black Mustang carrying a headless rider. A “Headless Horseman” once roamed the Texas Plains in the late 1800s as a warning to horse thieves.
