(1) Irish poet Seamus Heaney wrote, “All I know is a door into the dark.”  Chances are, some inmates at the Territorial Prison in Yuma harbored the same thought about the prison’s version of solitary confinement: a small cave with an iron cage at the center that held a narrow iron bed, but no bedding or toilet. “THE DARK CELL.”

(2) Some visitors to Yuma Territorial Prison believe the place is haunted. They’ve reported hearing rattling chains, blood-curdling screams, and pleas for help.
