US 🤝 UK: loving good books

If you’re in the UK and have been coveting the US edition of A Gentleman’s Gentleman, or if you’re in the US and think the UK edition of The Earl Meets His Match is the bee’s knees, OR if you live anywhere and want to get your hands on either version, have I got a giveaway for you.
I planned this giveaway months ago, waaaaaaay before the UK Supreme Court decision, but here’s a long story VERY short for USians and those out of the loop: for years, groups of “gender critical” or “trans exclusionary radical feminists” (terfs) have been working toward this court decision, as it creates a murky, incoherent, and contradictory area of law when it comes to trans people and what rights they have. The goal is to criminalize gender nonconformity and erase trans people from public life through threats and violence. Rulings like this are not confined to their country of origin. This is a global problem, and shit like this makes life worse for trans people everywhere.
Cis people, I need you to do something: Take 10 minutes and look up what anti-trans legislation is being debated in your local area. Are there things like The Defense of Women Because They’re So Frail & Bad at Sports Act or The Protection of Children’s Souls By Denying Their Personhood Bill? Even if you live in a liberal area, I guarantee you someone is trying this nonsense down at the local rec center or school board. Write one letter, make one phone call, show up to one meeting. Then do it again. And again. And again. I need you to be as persistent as a billionaire transphobe with wizard boy money to throw around because that’s who we’ve been dealing with for the last decade and change.
Alternatively/additionally, Genre Creators for Trans Rights in the United Kingdom and South Africa are holding an auction, where you can bid on many nice things including signed copies of The Earl Meets His Match and A Gentleman’s Gentleman.
