Spring! Into action.

Some fun news: A Lady for All Seasons has joined her older brother in being a USA Today bestseller! Thank you, everyone who bought the book in the first week of on-sale. It truly is a load off my mind. Once might be luck, but hitting the list twice means readers DO want trans and nonbinary characters, and they DO want historical romance, despite what some publishers might think.
Also: A Gentleman’s Gentleman is a finalist for the 2026 Lambda Literary Awards. Winners announced in June. Simply an honor to be nominated, and I mean that.
Subscribe nowNow some not fun news: I have an update on H.R. 7661, the bill I mentioned in my last free newsletter. It is now out of committee and will be voted on by the House. This is the bill that would ban trans books from school libraries nation-wide. Authors, publishing professionals, and educators are well-aware of this bill and its dangers, but people outside the industry seem largely ignorant of it. We need that to change.
Call and email your representative in the US House and tell them to vote NO on HR 7661 when it comes up for a vote. Here are some links that can help you do that:
If you have any sort of platform, consider posting about this. Make a video, use the AABB graphics, print out a flyer and put it somewhere it will be seen, whatever you can do to get the word out. Normal people cannot keep up with all this nonsense and most media outlets can’t either. Worryingly, most representatives in Congress haven’t heard about it either because they’re very busy with all the fascism! It’s up to us to educate people and get them involved.
Here’s another way to support the cause. Check it out if you’re in NYC.

Back to fun fun: my publisher commissioned the oh-so talented Hari Conner, author and illustrator of some of the most gorgeous graphic novels ever, to make character art for A Lady for All Seasons. You may have gotten these cards if you attended one of my book events or Love Y’all Fest. A version of these cards was posted on Instagram but I wanted to share these full beauties with you now! Just LOOK at Verbena and Flora-William.

If you’d like to get your hands on the real, physical cards, I’ll be sending them to my paid subscribers later this month.
