A Lady For All Seasons has been out for a scant week.

To celebrate, a treat for you! Here is an excerpt from the original, unedited draft of my proposal for A Lady, back when A Gentleman’s Gentleman was still going by the title Eden’s End. That title got changed kind of late in the game (a few people even got arcs with the old title printed on the front matter) because we decided it was a little too dour for what we were going for. I’m glad we ended up with the title we did; much better fit.
