Queer Books on Vacation
Hello and happy summer, lovelies, if you are in the summery hemisphere. I am very much looking forward to taking a break at the end of this month. And as I’m already in vacation mode, this newsletter will be just the facts, ma’am.
First: please read these responses to the Supreme Court’s decision in Mahmoud v Taylor from Authors Against Book Bans and the authors & illustrators of the picture books in question. This case has set the (difficult) groundwork for LGBTQ+ books in America in the coming years. But I believe we will win. Please do your part, whether that’s through donating, volunteering, or showing up at local meetings.

Events:
Panel: The Art of the Romance Novel at LIU Brooklyn Summer Writing Festival
with Brian D. Kennedy, Annika Sharma, Meredith Schorr, Page Powars, and Jennifer Dugan
Saturday, July 26 at 3pm, Kumble Theater, Brooklyn NY
Michigan, I will be in Ferndale just outside of Detroit this October for Ban This Book Fest.
