The third
Hello and happy last Friday of the month. First off, I'd like to apologise for missing last month. It just kinda flew by and I've been busy with other things. School started for the kid and then everything just ended up to being today... and now I have to start thinking about Christmas.
A lot of things happened... here's some.
Webring
Webrings are cool, and I always wanted to be part of one, so tinylytics now has its own. Woohoo. I wrote about it in more detail on my site, which you can read here.
Here’s to random encounters. They make the world go around ❤️
Anyone can start using the webring by embedding it to your site, check out the documentation here. All sites are vetted by me and it has to be personal websites.
Lot's of UI improvements
I spent some time reworking the UI, so things are a little less messy from the initial first weeks of the "MVP" (minimum viable product) development cycle.
Some cool things:
- Easily access sites, when you have multiple, using a dropdown from within another site.
- You can now pin your favourite sites so that they always show up at the top of the list.
And much much more:
- new setting screen for your sites, with clear sections for different settings.
- Change your chart type between column and line chart.
- For public stats pages, you can now delay the stats by one day – might be useful.
- Better site header interface. It was a bit of a mess. But now it looks nicer.
- Keyboard shortcuts. "s" = Go to sites overview, 1, 2 & 3 to toggle through the tabs when on a site. "e" to edit your current site (goes to the settings) and "a" to add a new one.
More embed options
We've got a hit counter, uptime meter, kudos... and now also, alongside the webring, you can embed the countries that have visited your site. It's pretty cool and comes in emoji form, check out the documentation to get started.
Did you know?
Did you know that you can prevent your own hits from being recorded? It's true! Because you like your site so much, you probably visit it a lot too. Tinylytics allows you to easily disable hits in your browser. Check out how to do that here.
I didn't cover everything here
I don't want to keep you here for too long, but there are more things I've been adding, but will make it into my next newsletter.
There is also my development blog specific to tinylytics so I invite you to take a look.
Suggest away
I love getting feedback and suggestions, so please just let me know and I'll do my best to make those features for you — if it fits the goal. So please just ask. And yes, I have been working on unique hits too.
Some quick stats for you
As always, I am blown away by your support! We're at nearly 500,000 page hits across 430 sites, with nearly 4,000 kudos interactions 🤯
Tinylytics is also profitable, yay! It's at nearly €300 monthly recurring revenue. Just blows my mind. Thank you so very much to all that have subscribed ✌️❤️
That's a wrap
That's it. More to come. As always, thank you for reading and using tinylytics.
