The first
🤯 Wow, the first tinylytics newsletter, fresh from my head into the digital realm, straight to your inbox! Pretty cool!
It all started a few weeks ago
tinylytics has been in my head for around 3 months, with a domain registered 2 months ago, and just this June, on the 12th, I opened it up for you fine folks after a weekend of coding.
Boy did it take me by surprise! This never happened to me. I teased at it, without naming it, just a link on my website and in the first hours we (the royal we of course) had over 10 sign ups. Crazy.
Today, tinylytics has just under 100 registered users. That just blows my mind and I'm incredibly humbled by all your enthusiasm and feedback ❤️
Some tiny stats
To date, tinylytics served over 160 sites. 160!!! with over 40,000 page hits recorded across all of them. Mind boggling awesome! Oh and just under 100 users. YYEEEHHHAAAAAA!
Gimme some features!
This month has all been about getting tinylytics out there for testing and using. Nothing like testing in the wild.
However, I've been working on some fun stuff:
- Hit counter. Yes, that's right, a hit counter you can embed onto your site as you see fit. I like an old school counter. You can find the documentation here.
- A graph... yeah, I added a boring graph to the site stats page. 😅 Everyone likes graphs, right?
- Kudos! OMG, ROFL, KUDOS ✌️❤️🤘👋 Erm, where was I? Ah yes, embeddable "like/kudos" button to your website pages and articles. I'm still working on this, and will announce documentation next week. But it's in the wild. Just something fun that will be available for free during development and then move onto the paid tier.
There's gonna be more stuff coming, but this has kept me pretty busy the past few weeks. My main concern were getting hits into the app/site and making sure that all works as expected.
Also have a lookout for some cool new plugins and theme updates that will be available via Micro.blog. I'll share more in the next update! Thanks Matt and Jim for your work to date ❤️
Pricing... say WHAT?!
In the run up to get tinylytics approved with my payment provider of choice, Paddle, I published preliminary pricing on the homepage.
There will be a free tier for low volume sites. If you come from OMG.lol or Micro.blog (and some others), I'll make sure to add some extra page hits free of charge. However I am still working out specifics.
There will be a $5/month plan, for early adopters, that unlocks more page hits and "kudos", plus a few other things.
Over time, I'll adjust the monthly pricing by a slight amount.
Oh and I will let everyone know when I do enable payments, but it won't be next week or anything! Still work to do for me.
Feel free to tell me if you have ideas here too.
OK, let's finish this
That's it for now, I don't want to take your time today, so... THANK YOU for reading!
During development I might send out one of these every two weeks (in July) and then once at the end of every month for a little update (if I have something to say).
Thank you again, it really means a lot.
I had fun, hope you had it too ✌️❤️
Can't wait to bring you more juicy details! There is so much I wanted to say...
🍻
