Sudo, Not Surrender
Hello friend,
It’s been a long time since I’ve written anything. I used to maintain various blogs, mostly about whatever I felt was important at the time… But I’ve never felt more compelled to speak out (or type, in this case). With the current state of affairs in the USA (and my homeland of Canada following all too closely) I think it’s a good time to talk about options… And since I’m a tech guy, I’ll focus on what I know best: Technology!
My dream is to bring you my thoughts on alternative technology — software, hardware, the works — that solves a problem and isn’t owned by a billionaire. There’s a lot of cool stuff out there created and maintained by regular folks who had a vision and enough passion to make it happen. Billionaires will tell you they have the only solutions but when given the choice to solve world hunger, will instead buy Twitter. Yes that’s a very specific reference.
Anyways, I hope you’ll come along for the ride and see where this experiment takes us.
Remember: Sudo, Not Surrender.
Cheers,
Tig
P.S. I was listening to a podcast about the email platform I’m using to send this to you, and Justin Duke — the guy who made the platform — mentioned an outreach program called Un-Loop which tries to help folks who are interested in software development and have been impacted by the judicial system. Very cool stuff, worth checking out.
