New post: The unsung perks of diplomatic open-mindedness
Hey guys,
I'm a tad late, but I'm still in the general ballpark of my monthly publication schedule.
In hindsight, I've noticed that many of the posts I've published up to now were mainly focused on the topic of navigating interpersonal dissent and conflict. It's not the only subject matter I'm interested in, but I guess this was where most of my energy was at.
In any case, since I've covered most of my thoughts on the topic I decided to focus my efforts on finishing this streak. My next post was supposed to talk about my favorite framing for conversation and navigating divergences in opinion, but a subsection ballooned out of proportion and I decided to turn it into its own post: The unsung perks of diplomatic open-mindedness.
It spells out the benefits of giving differing views a fair shot and approaching disagreements with a spirit of curiosity and collaboration. Might as well make a case for why doing something is a good idea before explaining how to go about it.
The next two posts should stay in the same theme. The first is the one I intended to publish in June initially. The second will cover some caveats to complete tolerance. At least, that's the plan as it stands now. I'm often surprised with how things turn out in the end. So, take this as a speculative roadmap rather than a set of contractual expectations.
On another topic, here are my most popular YouTube videos this month:
▶︎ Absolute relativism is absurd
▶︎ A few surprising philosophical implications of time travel in fiction
▶︎ The devastating existential impact of determinism on meaning and agency
Yeah, I wasn't expecting to talk about determinism this much, either. As I said, plenty of surprises. Keeps things interesting on my end, I guess.
In any case, I hope you'll find some insights and entertainment in the lot!
