Back from my hiatus with a new post
Hey guys,
Long time no see. It's been a while since my last newsletter in March.
I stopped sending updates for a while since at that point in time I only had one subscriber, YouTube subscribers would get video updates automatically, and I wasn't posting anything on the blog.
That last part I'm not particularly proud of. It's been about 1 year and 2 months since I last published a post, but the hiatus is finally coming to an end. I've just released a new post, and I intend to go back to my monthly publication schedule from now on.
You can read it here: The crux of graduating from child to adult mentality. It pertains to the elusive mental transition between childhood and adulthood, and incidentally, the savages who lay poopy booby traps on front porches.
To make a long story short, about one year ago I got pretty busy and decided to put the blog on hold to maintain my YouTube publication rhythm. About six months ago, after some reflection, I decided to stop my YouTube channel and get back to writing instead. As you might've noticed, my speed of execution hasn't been stellar.
I didn't want to push the hiatus all the way into 2026, so after a while I got fed up and decided I would just warm up by writing one short-ish post from start to finish, publish it, commit to a new rhythm, and figure things out from there instead of staying endlessly stuck in over-preparation. So here we are.
Back in late summer 2024, I hinted at a mysterious project regarding my content creation setup. In a nutshell, the idea was to start posting on Substack. That was another endeavour I'd been stalling hard on, but I've decided to cut through the red tape here too, and it's now live. You can find it here. It's got a different name than the website and newsletter for reasons I won't get into now, seeing as I try to keep these emails concise. For now all I'll say is that I plan to switch everything to the new name eventually.
I'll be publishing my posts both on my website and on Substack starting today. The former makes for a more tailored writing and reading experience, but the latter gives me readymade means to interact with the audience and other authors.
Regarding what to expect next, I've still got the three drafts I mentioned in my August 2024 newsletter, which are almost ready to go. I also haven't abandoned the longer one about the limits of cooperation that I teased all the way back to a post from June 2024. That one has been going pretty slow, so I might still publish a few shorter ones before I finally manage to complete it.
Alright, that's about it. I hope 2025 hasn't been treating you too roughly, and see you in the next update!
