updates from friends of the society
Simon Heartfield has released a live album around his recent shows as part of Secret Self. Having lost myself in the tracks at recent live shows, it's great to revisit them here.
Secret Nuclear have released 'Omega' on WHI Recordings - it's another fab slab of paranoia inducing grooves and moods, shifting and misdirecting your attention across it's course. It feels like a very apt soundtrack for these uncertain times.
Fediverse music scene lynchpin and face behind the Other People's Music Blog, Ether Diver has released their latest album, The Mechanics of Mysticism. It's a wild and wide ranging ride through the hills and valleys of electronic psychedelia.
'Roadmap: are we nearly there yet?' by Jennifer Mon and Bryn Lloyd at The Hidden Wardrobe, Northam - exploring the urgent issues facing artistic and community spaces. Launch 9 May, running 10 & 11 May.
Snapped Ankles are playing Papillon in Southampton on May 14. See you down the front.
a.o.b. - things that have replenished our creative wellspring recently
Videos from most of the sets and talks from Machina Bristonica 2024 are now live. There are a ton of great acts, but it's particularly worth checking out the sets by Loula Yorke, Surgeon, Nik Void and Hinako Omori.
