📰 What's Making News

Vista Del Rio Mobile Park Sells for $30M to Seattle Firm

After nearly five decades of local ownership, Vista Del Rio Mobile Park in east Vancouver has a new landlord. The 55-and-older manufactured home community sold for $30 million to a Seattle-based investment company — a bittersweet turn for residents who mounted their own bid to purchase the park back in 2024. The resident-led effort aimed to preserve Vista Del Rio as an affordable place to age in place, but ultimately couldn't compete. It's a significant ownership shift for one of east Vancouver's established communities. Read more from The Columbian.

Hazel Dell's Hidden New Smoothie Shop Deserves Your Radar

A new spot called 2 Juiced Co. has quietly opened in Hazel Dell, and the early buzz from locals who've found it is glowing. Tucked in the corner of a commercial lot with virtually no marketing, the juice, smoothie, and panini shop is flying under the radar — which is exactly why word-of-mouth matters. One Vancouver resident who stumbled in by accident called it one of the best smoothies they've ever had in town. Opening a cold-beverage business as fall settles in takes guts, so consider this your nudge to swing by and welcome them to the neighborhood. See the original post on Reddit.
