Vancouver's Rey Notarte Finishes Second at National Gymnastics Championships
Vancouver gymnast Rey Notarte just put Clark County on the national map. Competing in the Level 10 18-year-old division at the 2026 Men's Development Program National Championships in Oklahoma City (May 7–10), Notarte earned second place in the all-around — a remarkable showing against the country's top young talent. VITA Elementary Turns Classrooms Into 1776 for Hands-On History Day
Students at Vancouver Innovation, Technology and Arts Elementary School stepped back 250 years on Monday for an immersive lesson on the American Revolution. The hands-on experience brought history to life in a way textbooks simply can't, with the school leaning into its motto that "each of us has a story to tell." La Center's Schockelt, Seton Catholic's Wieczorek Share 1A Trico Baseball Honor
The 1A Trico League named its baseball all-league team, and two Clark County players share co-player of the year honors: La Center junior Gunnar Schockelt and Seton Catholic senior Teddy Wieczorek. Seton Catholic's Dalton Woods also picked up pitcher of the year, giving the Cougars program a strong showing as the postseason unfolds. Wyatt Brannan of La Center earned a first-team nod as well. 2A All-League Baseball, Softball Rosters Feature Ridgefield, Washougal, Columbia River Standouts
The 2A Greater St. Helens League released its all-league teams for both baseball and softball. On the diamond, Mark Morris senior Deker Bartell earned MVP while Columbia River's Luke Jenisch took pitcher of the year — and Ridgefield and Washougal each landed multiple first-team selections.
