GTM, Landscape Risk, LinkedIn and my dog

A wonderful edition again this time. There is GTM and parking lots. I'm back on LinkedIn, apple juice and environmental landscape risk.

Enjoy.

An evening stroll
I was walking my dog the other day when we ran into the caterpillar

"Good morning caterpillar", I said
"Good morning", the caterpillar mumbled
"Are you okay caterpillar?", I asked
"Not really, no", the caterpillar said

"I ran into this butterfly", she said, "and he was a complete knob"

"Don't let that get to to you", I said, "he's only a butterfly! And look at you, you are a caterpillar!"

the caterpillar took another sip of whiskey

I'm back on LinkedIn. Oh happy, oh joy.

happyjoy happy cat and happy dog

After 5 minutes, I told my wife to hide all the electrical cords and loose ends of rope. But that would be easy. I refuse to be a victim. When I go in, I go all in.

Most important achievement so far: reconnected with the CEO of jesus.net. (long story).

Second most important achievement: I handed over marketing duties to my dog. I think he will do fine but he got carried away a bit when I told him he got the position:

your mother haru on collecting feedback

disney haru and Disney, a match made no one knows where (he auditioned for a Disney movie once but got rejected because of lack of commitment)

I wrote a follow up to the Consultancy 2 SaaS maturity model essay: Go To Market strategy, and its discontents.

parking lot parking lot with car

I'm fairly pleased with it. I think it gives a nice, simple intro of what Go To Market is. How it maps to the Cons2SaaS maturity stages and discusses common mistakes. All real. Based on experience and true truth.

Next essay is about knowledge management and how every organisation is doing it wrong. Or not.

I am running into all sorts of silly stuff from my apparently not so hidden past. I found famous people like me and burn the forest. I ran a blog on the former, I think. Now it's Zoli and me and a bunch of other guys somewhere in the dark 90s of the previous century. The latter I claimed in the early 00s when I got sick with NGO and government funds being wasted on talking about protecting the forest rather than actually do something material. Dutch Uncling the palm oil producers and traders rather than cooperating with them.

appelsap I had a coffee with my old landlady and she gave me this 3L pack of apple juice, made from apples from her orchard

I have a ton of notes and old memos lying around about environmental landscape risk and the tension between natural and economical functions of landscapes and how the carbon and water cycles are going to determine who will win the M&A consolidation phase that lies ahead of us.

Since the previous sentence is unreadable, I will write a series of 3 essays:

  1. Environmental landscape risk: the tension between natural and economic functions of landscapes;

  2. The carbon cycle: components needed for integrated reporting, decision making and planning;

  3. The water cycle: components needed for integrated reporting, decision making and planning.

There are a lot of service providers in this space, each with their own speciality and niche. But they are all parts of the same puzzle. My essay series will describe the puzzle and explain how the company executing on owning the whole carbon cycle and the whole water cycle, will win.
