↑ How&How’s rebrand of the Aruba Conservation Foundation is pretty cool. Great colors, icons, etc.
“Once you hold a Palma, you realize that for most situations it’s an ideal reading container. On the train? In line? In the waiting room at the doctor’s office? I’ve carried my Palma with me every day for the past three or so months with the goal of reaching for it rather than my iPhone. I call it the Gentle Librarian.” From Craig Mod’s review of the Boox Palma.
The Studio also recently reviewed the Palma as part of a dumb phone show (editor’s note: none of the phones they reviewed are actually dumb phones). They liked the Palma the most even though it's not a phone. I occasionally switch to the Light Phone when I need a detox so I can see why everyone likes the chill vibe of the Palma. I wonder if we're not really looking for dumb phones, but maybe more of a low signal experience (a phone without infinity pools).
“If I could press a button that generated a book chapter or a newsletter like this, so that nobody could tell the difference, I’d have eliminated all the effort involved – and also the entire point of doing it in the first place.” - It's the human connection, stupid.
David Epstein on “adversarial collaboration“ and "kind" vs. "wicked" learning environments.
Chris Glass’s blogroll is great!
A moment of zen from Seth Werkheiser.
Sorry for the short note this week. I broke my pinky, and I am currently in a cast that make typing a bit of a pain.
I hope you have a weekend full of human connection and free of infinity pools.
