Hello! Happy September, everybody. This is Gabriel. I hope you’re well. If you’re not well, I hope you’re at least laughing, holding, remembering, taking deep breaths.

Another short one this month. Mainly I want to tell you I have SHOWS COMING UP. The Living Room Tour of my new solo play Moss continues.

September Dates:
- 9/13, 7pm, Manhattan, Undisclosed location
- 9/20, 7pm,
World’s End Comics, Kingston, NY
- 9/27, 5pm, Hudson Valley, NY, Undisclosed location

If you’d like to attend one of the undisclosed location shows, please hit reply on this email and let me know. Please also let me know if you can’t attend any of these but would like to attend or host one in future.

Some of you receiving this newsletter are my closest people, some of you I met recently, some of you were once closest people and time and tide drifted us apart, some of you we were never that close but I always remember you as someone Cool Who Gets It.

Whoever you are, thank you so much for engaging with this weird thing I’m doing. It’s been two months and change since I officially launched Thicket & Bramble with a performance of Moss followed by an eight-day podcast jump scare. The response has been such a blessing.

Thank you to everybody who watched and listened. Thank you to everyone who reached out and said lovely things. If you have stuff you want to say about the play and/or the podcast, please feel free to hit reply on this email and say it. I want to hear literally everything everyone has to say about it.

The Thicket & Bramble podcast is now available on Apple and Spotify. My brilliant producer Alec and I think of these first episodes as a kind of 8-track album of stories, with episode 5 as a kind of “lead single”. Might be interesting to try listening to that one first.

One more thing: I’m starting a challenge today. I was a mega big reader for my whole childhood and a lot of my twenties and then, because of Various Brain Things, I haven’t been able to read books for several years now. I am surrounded by piles and piles of books I read the first 5 to 50 pages of before losing steam.

I miss being a reader very much, and I’ve decided to become one again. Starting today until the end of the year, I will be reading at least one page of a book per day.

That might not sound like a lot, but that’s the point. I’ve found that the best way to start a habit, for me at least, is by starting ridiculously small and extremely slow.

If there’s a habit you’ve been trying to start, and you’d like to join me in starting it small and slow, perhaps this right here is your sign to go for it.

Whether or not, I wish you smallness and slowness of one kind or another. Remember the way in. Remember that it’s not a marathon or a sprint. Take your time. Deep breaths. We’re going to make it.

Thank you for being here.
