1. A towering succulent native to the Sonoran Desert, renowned for its expansive girth and impressive stature; often observed with reverence from a safe distance.

2. colloq. A desert heavyweight that quietly monopolizes the horizon, unfazed by time or tourists.

Etymology. From Spanish saguaro, possibly derived from the Pima language. Its massive growth is considered a slow-motion mic drop in the plant world.
