Will you help us serve the greater good?
Your investment in nonprofit news goes FOUR TIMES as far today!
Dear Reader,
Many American adults don't feel that national news organizations care about the impact of their reporting.
In a recent survey of more than 5,000 American adults from Gallup and the Knight Foundation, just 23% believed that most national news organizations care about “the best interests of their readers, viewers and listeners.”
That’s pretty grim, especially knowing how much my colleagues and I really do care about you and everyone we serve.
Today, on Giving Tuesday, I want to make it clear that here at The Xylom: we care, deeply. We care about you, our community of readers. We want you to trust our reporting, and we care about the impact we have on science and society. These are the very reasons we exist.
If our mission of growing science with words resonates with you, I ask you to consider donating what you can to help keep our trustworthy journalism thriving. I made my own year-end donation to The Xylom first thing this morning because I just don’t think there’s any organization that gets so much impact with each dollar.
We are hoping to raise $1,500 by the end of the day. And, thanks to NewsMatch, all gifts up to $1,000 are being matched three dollars for a dollar.
Can we count on you to help us reach our goal?
Giving Tuesday is a movement that reimagines a world built upon shared humanity and generosity. As an organization, we always aim to be generous of spirit, in service to you, our readers — and the greater good. Thank you for your generosity in return.
With gratitude,
Alex Ip
