A poll commissioned this year by Free Press, a media advocacy organization, found that 79% of Americans are concerned the information they see online is “fake, false or a deliberate attempt to confuse people.” As both digital journalists and Americans, we find this highly concerning.

Here at The Xylom, we work hard every day to earn and maintain the trust of our audience. We prize truth in reporting above all else, and we know that a strong democracy depends on our type of in-depth science and climate coverage.

We live in the same community as you. Your frustrations and questions are our frustrations and questions, and we want solutions and accountability as much as you do.

Newsrooms like ours, which are committed to truth, data, and answers, are imperative for a functioning democracy.
