A genuine snow window opens tomorrow and runs through Thursday, with Wednesday shaping up as the most significant day of the two weeks.
Tomorrow brings a real chance of snow on the hills — around 46% — with the plains at a lower but watchable 15%. The detail on tomorrow is covered by the Canterbury Snow Forecast, but the window is already in play. Wednesday is the day to focus on: the hills are sitting at 68% and one run of the guidance pushes that as high as 82%, making snow on the hills more likely than not — a good chance running well above even. The plains are also in the frame at 55%, though guidance is divided on how far snow levels drop, so there is spread in that figure. It is worth noting that Wednesday's signal has been firming across recent runs. Thursday carries the window on, with around 47% for the hills and a meaningful 39% for the plains, though again the guidance is split and the keener run reaches considerably higher — treat Thursday as a real chance rather than a certainty.
