Who picks up when your AI support agent hands off?

When an AI support agent hands a conversation to a person, where does it go—and does that person have enough context to help?

Our latest teardown looks at Intercom Fin through the decisions a support team needs to make: which knowledge it can use, how it connects to other systems, how handoff works, and how to stop the workflow.

Two details stood out in the documentation. Fin’s resolution definition includes both confirmed and assumed resolutions. And pausing the main deployment toggle may leave other active paths that need to be checked.

These are documented product behaviors, not results from a customer deployment we tested. The article connects them to practical checks your team can run.

We also added a free pilot evaluation worksheet for comparing results with your current process, including review time, corrections, and unresolved failures:

Which decision is hardest for your team right now: choosing what AI can answer, connecting it to company systems, or managing human handoff? Reply with the question you’re working through. Please keep customer and company-confidential details out of your reply.
