The Weird Internet Codex is Online
Hey there,
A little while back, you signed up to hear about a project I was working on called The Weird Internet Codex.
Good news: it's no longer just an idea.
The Codex now has a home online:
It's still very much a work in progress, but the foundation is there.
The Weird Internet Codex is a project about becoming a participant in the internet again instead of just a consumer. It's about building your own space online, understanding the tools you use every day, finding alternatives when the modern web isn't serving you, and having more control over your digital life.
Or, to put it another way:
UNDERSTAND THE MACHINE.
MODIFY THE MACHINE.
OWN THE MACHINE.
I've also released the first official Codex resource:
Build a Corner of the Internet That's Actually Yours
https://thestaticroom.itch.io/build-a-corner-of-the-internet
It's a short field guide to personal websites, digital folk art, and creating your own space online.
Right now the Codex is still under construction. More resources, guides, experiments, and strange corners of the internet are on the way. But I wanted to send a signal and let you know that the project is officially online and beginning to take shape.
Thank you for being one of the first people interested enough to sign up. It genuinely helped convince me this was worth building.
See you in the weird corners of the web,
Dex
