Third Crater On The Right
"Wherever we go, we are friends" -Sloth and Manatee
Has anyone ever stopped and asked you for directions and you give them and they drive away and then you spend the next ten minutes wondering if you told them the right thing?
Just me? Okay.
Anyway.
Sloth and Manatee are headed back down to the moon.
Who do you think they are going to meet?
I've been thinking about the Interdimensional Bloop, and all the ways that could work. (If you are not sure what the heck that is, you can go back and read all the comics, the Bloop discussion starts here.)
To me the Bloop and the Octopus who takes care of it are a bit Tarot-ish, or mystical, or suggest worlds beyond our own in lots of ways.
I was riding on an airplane a few days ago and this song popped into my head, so here you go. It is "Rehumanize Yourself" by The Police. (It's got a swear in it, just so you know)
Here is Baphomet hanging around in space (Baphonaut!) I wrote my thoughts from the beginning to the end of the process. A bit of a peek at the birth of a drawing and a new friend.
Here's Baphonaut finished:
Baphonaut shares a vibe with Slow Down Sloth:
Sloth: Hey there, Baphonaut! How's things?
Baphonaut: Just fine up here, Sloth friend. Feeling the vastness of space. How 'bout you?
Sloth: Oh, keeping it real here in my terry robe. It's quite fuzzy, you know.
Baphonaut: Yes a good fuzzy robe is so enjoyable. I wear my fuzzy socks in my space suit.
Sloth: And of course we both have a certain amount of the fuzz.
Baphonaut: We do indeed. Oh look, a comet!
Sloth: So many shiny things up there, Baphonaut.
Baphonaut: You're not kidding, Sloth. Enjoy your coffee there. See you when I re-enter gravity.
Sloth: Yes see you soon, friend, tell the stars hello.
Baphonaut: I will, and you tell the oceans and the trees and everyone hello as well.
Oh heck I almost forgot! Bicycle Sentences is now available and you can get your copy from the Rivendell bike shop or from Me for $20 plus shipping yes yes! A lil 7x7-inch book made with wisdom and love and gosh we are proud of it. I'm so grateful to have worked with Grant on it. Such a good friend. So good all around. Please enjoy!
Okay! That's enough nonsense for now.
May you get good directions, may you hang out in a space suit with your coffee and fuzzy socks, won't you be my neighbor? -Betsy
