The old man said, "You never know."
"Wherever we go, we are friends" -Sloth and Manatee
I was going for a run, and I stopped to stretch by this little gate with a padlock on it. This old man was going for a walk too, and as he went by he made a little joke about how I looked like I was going to break that lock open. I said, "Oh, I don't think I'm that strong."
He said, "You never know." and kept walking.
Sometimes it seems like the more experiences we pile up in life, the more likely we are to admit, we don't know things. We never know.
Recently Sloth produced an itty bitty space ship out of that magic sleeve, and the tardigrades used it to fly off into another dimension.
Sloth doesn't always seem to know what's up that sleeve, but when it comes to helping out small friends, a tiny tree and a tiny rocket ship appear. Maybe it has to do with intent. Sloth always has an intent to help.
In many ways we are each our own dimension, aren't we?
What else don't we know?
Here is a post called "The Magic of Saying Hello," about how greeting each other creates a space - and the man at the beginning of this letter is like that. His little comment gave something to think about and opened up a space. He could have just walked on by, but he didn't.
New print this week... a friend (Derek Powazek who with his wife runs Milk Barn Farm, highly recommend Derek's Instagram for adorable goats) called it "A Murder of Punks," and so that’s totally the title. Thanks Derek! Here they are:
Okay! That's enough nonsense for now.
May you know what you know and not what you don't know, may you have a lovely time saying hello to someone, won't you be my neighbor? -Betsy
