What is a mistake, anyway?
What do you consider a mistake? Is it when something doesn't come out the way you wanted? When it's not what someone else wants?
Here's a post called "Bad Art," about what supposedly makes art Bad. Hopefully reading it will make you feel inspired and encouraged about trying things and creating stuff, no matter what...
Sometimes we fear making mistakes because we think others will judge us
Judgment is all relative, though.
I've currently got maybe 6 copies of the Brainwaves book on hand to sign if you want one, I do love sending em direct to people from my book shop. With stickers!
Many of my illustrations start out as a mistake or unexpected result. I almost never know how something is going to come out. Start with an intent and then pretty soon the frog is in space. Or there's a toy accordion.
A lot of these messes end up in the print shop, and lil mini prints and art prints and stickers are quite good to buy for folks you like, here's where that's located
Okay! That's enough nonsense for now.
May you make a very good mistake, may you just keep drawing or sewing or building or whatever because you want to, won't you be my neighbor?
