On the Octopus (Octopi)(Octopuses)
"Wherever we go, we are friends" -Sloth and Manatee
Sloth and Manatee

In Sloth and (Moon)atee, the friends encounter a penguin who introduces them to an octopus, who is the manager of the Interdimensional Bloop.
Octopus is responsible to open and shut doors to all of the dimensions, so that everybody who wants to go from somewhere (or somewhen) to somewhere/when else can get there. Octopus does this with aplomb and also friendliness.
An Octopus is like the physical embodiment of crossing over boundaries. They reshape and recolor and move into any space like a living fluid.
Their intelligence is built totally differently from ours. It is dispersed and interlaced. They are pretty much unbothered by physical and mental barriers that we humans seem to believe make up the world. They change color and pattern and texture. They do impressions of rocks. All their arms have their own stuff going on.
Here we are, all hung up on what we look like and sound like and putting up barriers all over the place, borders, prejudices, retail, fashion, political parties, sports teams, fences, little exoskeletons we zoom around in, levels of education, brand names, clubs, special lounges at the airport, and here’s the octopus, cruising around and becoming and re-becoming.
