This has been shared a lot, it is Cabel Sasser’s talk at the XOXO conference this year (the last XOXO) - watch it to the end, it’s glorious and joyful.
Tiny Art Lesson (this came up in the illustration class I’m currently teaching): Flipping the camera angle. You can find out a lot about characters, story, or just shake things up by flipping the perspective. Say you’ve got a mysterious figure on a train platform:
What happens when you flip it? What might that mysterious figure be looking at?
Very good way of getting un-stuck/generating ideas. Also useful in other situations where you might need to understand another perspective. Like say, a conversation or a situation or just life in general.
Okay! That's enough nonsense for now.
May you get an excellent new outfit, may you hear something groovy on the radio, won't you be my neighbor? - Betsy
