Here's what Beauty and the Skin actually is — and who it's for

What this workshop actually is
A few days ago I sent you an announcement about Beauty and the Skin: The Medicinal and Spiritual Properties of Herbs — our April 19 virtual workshop with Julie Moody-Freeman and Ericka Mabrie.
I want to say something more clearly this time.
This is not a skincare workshop.
It's not about routines, ingredients, or getting better results from your shelf. There are plenty of places to get that, and this isn't one of them.
This is a workshop about what the skin actually is — and what plants have long understood about it.
Three conversations, one workshop
I. Healing skin conditions
The skin speaks. Breakouts, dryness, sensitivity, inflammation — these aren't problems to suppress. They're communications. In many traditions, you don't treat what you see on the skin in isolation. You ask what the body is holding, and you work with the plants that know how to respond.
II. Healing through the skin
The skin is also a doorway in. Herbs applied topically don't stay on the surface — they move. We'll talk about muscle aches, cramps, what enters the body through topical application, and the plant preparations that have been used for exactly this for centuries.
III. Healing the spirit through the skin
Touch is one of the oldest medicines. The practice of tending a body — with care, with plants, with intention — has always been understood as spiritual work. We'll look at what those ancestral traditions hold and what it looks like to bring them into a life that's genuinely yours.
Who this is for
This workshop is for you if any of these are true:
- You've been curious about herbalism but haven't found an entry point that feels like yours
- You have a skin condition that conventional approaches haven't resolved
- You use herbs topically and want to understand more about how they actually work
- You feel like your beauty or body care practice is missing something — depth, meaning, a real relationship with what you're using
- You take care of others and want to know what plants can do in that work
- You're drawn to ancestral traditions of body care and want to explore them seriously
You don't need any prior herbal knowledge. You need only to be someone who lives in a body and wants to understand it better.
