The good stuff, but also the not-so-great stuff
Spoiler alert: it's all good with me! I hope it's all good with you. Funny that, in a more personal medium like email newsletters, I feel like even alluding to possible bad luck or misfortune is some kind of Chekov's gun. I probably watch too much Peak Television.
I may have cracked the -wave genres, like chillwave or vaporwave. If -wave is at the end, it's synths and drum machines. If -pop is at the end, it's guitars and drums. Dreampop, chamberpop: guitars and drums. Chillwave and and vaporwave: synths and drum machines. 🤷♂️👴
Kurzgesagt on what would happen if just one modern nuclear weapon were used on a city. It is not the gritty apocalypse story we see in movies; it’s just a complete collapse of everything about modern civilization. Nuclear weapons are one of the inventions I wish we could take back. Even when you factor in what was created to support the nuclear weapon complex which we benefit from every day (better computers, GPS navigation, all manners of wireless communication, civilian nuclear power), its bad news on the net. Hopefully, the miracle of their near non-use will continue. 😬
The bits of the music between the notes, the silences. That’s the good stuff. Particularly in classical music, but also in slow songs. Say, “Untitled (How does it feel?)” by D’Angelo (Elvis/cameras-only-above-the-waist rule in effect here).
Nice cars. Nice watches. Your basic rich people stuff. Monterey Car Week, 2019.
