Prelude: My contribution to the pantheon of “pop-up newsletters”
The pop-up establishments are coming from inside the emails!
They’re like pop-up1 shops, exhibits, shows, etc. Craig Mod, Nat Bennett, and Naz Hamid do them, to great effect. I like the idea that 1) they're temporary and 2) specific, narrow in scope.
So, for the next few weeks, I’m going to bring you some kind of thematic newsletter. A couple of times per week. As little as an image and a few sentences. Maybe a bunch of links, perhaps a self-contained reflection.
The subject is likely to be something like a travelogue. A tried and true format, one I’ve enjoyed when others execute it. My photography won’t be as sharp, but I feel good about my ability to use concision and wit to make up for it!
Here’s a hint on the through-line I have in mind:
I hope to see you next time, have a great week(s)!

Adjacent: while it's not the most loathsome business jargon we've received in the past, let's say, decade, "pop-up" store/exhibit/whatever is not even right. "Limited time", "this week only!", and "temporary" were fine vocabulary!
p.s. every newsletter/blog/endeavor is a “pop-up” if you slack off or procrastinate enough ↩
