A dusting of "snow"
Salutations! I’m Adam Keys and you’re here because, at some point in your past, you subscribed to my newsletter on interesting things you can enjoy and/or read. If that seems unlikely and unfamiliar, well that’s our sick sad world, but you can unsubscribe (link in the footer) if you want to. But since you’re still reading, thanks!, and let’s get on to the things of interest.
It “snowed” in Austin, so I feel obliged to share it with you. The high quality Texas sunset that would normally appear here shall return shortly.
Current media enjoyments:
- Prince’s Batman soundtrack/album is still a jam, in its own, simultaneously avant-grade and downright pop, way
- Hot take: besides That One Big Moment in Whitney Houston’s version, Dolly Parton’s original “I Will Always Love You” is the equal of the more recognizable nineties version
- YouTube suggested I watch this old television program and concert with Leonard Bernstein, Glenn Gould, and Igor Stravinsky. I absolutely did and I do not regret it.
My favorite taco truck in Austin, El Primo, was recently featured in a short profile/mini-documentary.
Communicating asynchronously is the most important skill for successful remote workers. Knowing how to unblock yourself is the second most important.
The Watchmen graphic novel is possibly the best graphic novel I’ve read and maybe in my top five works of fiction
Pro-tip: get a cute credit card so people remark on it, then over-tip
Have a lovely week!
