A federal appeals court revived Fairfax and Arlington schools' lawsuit over frozen funding. The Fourth Circuit ruled 2-1 to send the case back to a district court that had dismissed it, finding the districts are challenging the Trump administration's funding freeze on policy grounds, not grant terms. FCPS and APS sued in August 2025 after the Education Department withheld money over their policies supporting transgender students. FFXnow

Trump says he will close the East Potomac golf course for 15 months of renovations starting Nov. 15. He announced the plan on social media, promising a course able to host events like the U.S. Open and Ryder Cup. A federal judge halted the redevelopment last week until at least Oct. 26, scolding the government for starting tree removal over a holiday weekend. Rep. Don Beyer called the plan "a disgrace." The documents released Friday by the National Capital Planning Commission describe the project as a "ceremonial gateway" instead of a post for drones and snipers. The arch would sit in the traffic circle connecting D.C. to Virginia, across from Arlington National Cemetery. WTOP

That's the briefing. Look out for each other out there. See you tomorrow.
