Happy (Pre-) Patriot's Day to our community! Today is the anniversary of Aaron Guild leaving his plow and oxen behind to fight the British at Lexington and Concord. This week's issue goes into detail about his journey. 🐂
Tomorrow is the Boston Marathon, and this is the Matt Brown Foundation's second time at the race raising money for those fighting paralysis. Check out how you can help. 🏃♀️
Speaking of running - running water that is - the Hennessey Field detention basin proposal has sparked some lively discussion, and will have its finished plan up in September 🌧️.
The Planning Board and Board of Selectmen had busy sessions last week, both dealing with about half a dozen citizen petitions around zoning issues (reactions to Former Gov. Charlie Baker's MBTA Communities Act and the 55 Lenox Proposal). The Board of Selectmen also heard about dire financial outlook for Norwood Community Media, as well as an update from the Town Manager on the Town taking the Norwood Hospital by eminent domain 🏥.
We also highlight plans for Earth Day festivities next Sunday and look ahead to the big decisions awaiting us at Town Meeting 🌎.
