The Record Weekly: Coakley Funds, Rotary and losing the hunt
The Record Weekly
Oct 4, 2026
Hello, Norwood! 🍂
Fall has a way of drawing people back to the kitchen table, and this week's Record gives you plenty to talk about in between sips 🍵.
We're starting with a milestone: the Neponset Valley Sunrise Rotary Club is celebrating 25 years of service to Norwood and beyond. That's a quarter century of volunteers showing up, and it deserves a proper thank-you.
Over at the Norwood Women's Community Committee (WCC), the holiday season is arriving early, with the store being transformed into a winter wonderland. It's a good reminder to shop local this year.
There's also serious business on the agenda. We're following the discussion over bow hunting at the airport, a question that has residents weighing safety, wildlife management, and how we share open space. We also have the latest on Coakley Middle School's leftover funds and how the Town is looking at spending them.
With the State Election coming up on November 3rd, now is the time to make sure your voice counts. If you haven't registered yet, the deadline is this weekend. 🗳️
Many thanks to our sponsor, Raising Stars! Their new Norwood location is now enrolling infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. If you're searching for a great place for your little one, get in touch with them today.
Pour something warm, settle in, and catch up on what's happening in Norwood.
