Section editors wanted!

Subscriber Our writing team keeps growing, and as we expand our reach and scope of coverage and analysis, we find ourselves once more asking for your editorial help!

If working with progressive politics, a range of left-leaning views, international, intersectional perspectives, and the chance to shape the future of the Norwich Radical is something that appeals to you, keep reading: we're looking for a new editor for both our Perspectives and Student sections!

Our Perspectives section covers political and cultural developments related to marginalised communities based on ethnicity, gender, heritage, orientation, disability and identity, in the UK and abroad.

Our Student section covers political and cultural developments in education institutions and the surrounding communities, in the UK and abroad.

Please note that The Norwich Radical is not-for-profit and all writers and editors work on a voluntary basis. To apply for either role, please send a statement of no more than 750 words which addresses the brief, along with a sample of your written work, to thenorwichradical@gmail.com.

We also request that candidates fill in and send this equal opportunities monitoring form, but this is not compulsory. The equal opportunities form will be separated and anonymised on receipt of your application.

We strongly encourage applicants from marginalised backgrounds, and we are open to candidates who wish to apply for this position as part of a job-share. Applicants do not have to be based in the UK.

Please return your statement, written work sample and equal opportunities monitoring form by midnight on Thursday 27th May (UK time).

Full details can be found here. On a much more somber note, we would like to bring your attention to the current events taking place globally, rife with military occupation, genocide, apartheid, and the results of the global coronavirus pandemic.

Our thoughts and support go to our readers, contributors, and followers currently struggling in India, where the COVID-19 pandemic is taking a horrifying toll in the wake of abysmal nationalist governance, a lack of international cooperation, and, yet again, profit-driven systems. Our contributor Ananya has shared an extensive document of possible donation paths and organisations, compiled and curated by the local and international community, should any of you be able to or choose to help. If that is the case, make sure you do not donate to government backed, and supremacist linked groups, such as Sewa International.

With things (arguably) currently easing a little in the UK, and other European countries just beyond our short-sighted borders, it can be hard to follow news - especially bad news - from further abroad.

Wherever you are right now, whatever your struggle, we hope you stay safe, and find power and solace where you can.

In Solidarity,
The Norwich Radical Editorial Team
