Recruitment deadline extended!

We are extending the deadline for applications to join the Norwich Radical team - if you were thinking of applying, you now have until midnight on this Sunday the 21st!
Our team is a collective of writers, activists, students and workers who volunteer to produce an independent publication dedicated to amplifying progressive and radical ideas, campaigns and artwork. If you share our values and are interested in writing on any kind of political or artistic topic, we'd love you to join us!
Our regular contributors commit to producing one short article or piece of creative writing for their section on a monthly or fortnightly basis. Previous writing experience is beneficial, but not necessary. Applicants do not have to be based in Norwich, or in the UK, and we particularly encourage applicants from diverse backgrounds.
Please note The Norwich Radical is not-for-profit and all writers and editors work on a voluntary basis.
How to Apply
To apply for the role of Section Writer at The Norwich Radical, please send a statement of no more than 400 words, along with a sample of your written work to thenorwichradical@gmail.com. Your statement should specify which section(s) you wish to apply for, and lay out what kind of contributions you could bring to The Norwich Radical as a regular contributor as well as any previous experience you feel is relevant.
We also request that candidates fill in and send this equal opportunities monitoring form, but this is not compulsory. The equal opportunities form will be separated and anonymised on receipt of your application. See our Join the Team page for more information, and if you have any queries, email us at thenorwichradical@gmail.com.
Green New Deal Norwich have approached us to help with a survey for their ‘Green Jobs for All’ campaign. They are looking for people who could benefit from investment in green jobs and who would be willing to talk about it – whether that’s people who are out of work, leaving school or university, or who currently work in a high-carbon industry and want to switch to something more future-proof. 'Green jobs’ doesn’t just mean installing solar panels – it’s all the jobs we need in a zero-carbon future, including care, education, and all the public services we need to invest in for long-term prosperity.
Participating would involve either telling your story briefly in writing with an accompanying photo, or recording a simple video, saying who you are, what your work situation is and any worries you have about it, and why you want to see investment in green jobs. Green New Deal will be promoting these stories on 23rd March.
You can find out more about the overall campaign here. Anonymous submissions can be arranged. If you'd like to share your story, or help with the campaign in another way, please email norwichgnd@gmail.com.
In solidarity,
The Norwich Radical Editorial Team
