Subscriber If last month we were able to welcome a new editor to the team, this month we instead part ways with another: please join us in wishing the best of luck to Yali Banton-Heath, who leaves her role as Inter|National section editor this month, although she will remain involved with the publication in other capacities.

Yali's work with the writers in her section has been incredible, as has been her personal writing for The Norwich Radical - which you can still find here, of course - and it was thanks to her initiative and help that we now have an Instagram page too.

As much as it is sad to see her leave, we know she'll be doing equally excellent work in her next endeavours! Moving our attention internationally, and to the topic which has taken over most of recent media attention, we would like to briefly comment upon the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Beyond the questionable nature of the IOC, the sponsors, and every government which has accepted the event into their country, the event currently taking place has been a reminder of the displacement, the discrimination, the obtuse, reckless decision-making during a global pandemic, and ultimately, the purely profit-driven agenda of organisers and government alike.

Yet again, what should be a display of sports excellence, friendly competition and international cooperation, has instead proven itself to be a wealth funnel for the few. The SARS-COV-2 pandemic is still ongoing, the Delta variant is roaring through several countries and communities, and despicable politics (national and international alike) of vaccination access and healthcare mismanagement are rampant - with responsibility being yet again pushed onto the individual.

Still, wherever you are, we hope that you are able to be safe and well, and that you can keep in mind the circumstances of people in other parts of the world.
