Subscriber Another month has gone by, with some big changes taking place at home and abroad. The horrors of austerity, fully manifest in the Grenfell accident and the post-election politicking, have also shown us the better side of humanity as a result. Young people are more and more a part of active, progressive, political empathy. And that is beyond any shadow of doubt, good.

Closer to home, two big deadlines happened at The Norwich Radical virtual headquarters this month.

First, we closed our vacancy for a new Arts editor, as advertised in previous months - and the co-editors have reviewed and discussed all applications, contacted all applicants with feedback, and are now expecting a reply from the successful ones. We will be revealing the editor properly in next month's email, so keep an eye on that!

With yesterday, 1st July, we also closed our Crowdfunder on Indiegogo, on a whopping £265 (minus 5% Indiegogo fees) out of £100 required of yearly costs for The Norwich Radical! Why £100? Every year our site comes up for renewal on its platform, Wordpress:

• keeping it ad-free & independent costs us £85 p/year
• renewing our domain costs £15.

These, and all other, costs have always been covered by the co-editorial team, but as the publication keeps growing, we are working to find avenues which will reduce the financial impact on the team. This includes the possibility of registering as a co-operative, and working towards offering readers the choice to become members. We will update you on that with concrete plans in the future.

Any funds we receive beyond £100 will pay-forward for years to come, to ensure The Norwich Radical can continue the work it does. So far, we can cover another year in full for the platform, so if you shared, advertised, plugged, and of course, contributed in any way - our greatest, most sincere thank you to you all.
