Long time no read

Subscriber We've been quiet for some time, as we recruited new editors for the team and let some of the settling to take place. We also know that a lot is currently happening in the world right now, and having one fewer piece of politically inclined messaging will not go too amiss.

But we have been busy, even in our silence. This issue of The Norwich Radical newsletter introduces all our readers and collaborators to the three new editors that joined us over summer. Each of them has already been working on their relevant section, and you'll see articles in their own voices soon too.

Arts section - Ewa Giera

Ewa is a Polish writer from Norwich and a recent UEA graduate. Big fan of feminist science fiction, video games and good coffee.

Inter|National section - Yali Banton-Heath

Yali is currently studying for an MA in Human Rights Law at SOAS having graduated with a degree in International Development from UEA. Her writing and research focus on minority and indigenous rights, the politics of land, and marginalised groups' access to justice. Balancing her academia and studies with a healthy dose of counter-culture and tomfoolery, if she's nowhere to be seen in the library she's probably sat round a fire in a muddy field putting the world to rights with an old raver over a can of Stella.

Perspectives section - Mollie LeVeque

Mollie seems to be a scientist trapped in a humanities soul: although she wanted to be a mortician or psychiatrist when she grew up, she became a cultural historian. She is an author, researcher, and developmental editor. If she was a whisky, she would be a type of Laphroaig. In her spare time (when it exists), she writes fiction, likes to see plays, goes for walks and runs, and tries to pet all the outdoor cats she finds.

Please join us in welcoming all three, their work is already invaluable on the team!

As for what the new academic year brings us:
  • We'll be soon recruiting for more regular contributors in all sections, so keep your eyes out for an email from us soon.
  • War of Words 2019 is entering its full planning stages, and we will have updates in the coming months about crowdfunding, initial sessions, and speakers.
  • As always, we are open for contributions at any time if you feel like writing on a specific topic, or in response to one of our pieces. Just contact us!

In solidarity,
The Norwich Radical Editorial Team
