Launching our new supporter scheme!

Subscriber It's a new year, and we are excited to be launching a new project here at The Norwich Radical - our new supporter scheme! Starting today, those who want to can support us financially with a regular monthly or annual donation via our page on the Steady platform.

Check out all the details on our Steady page here.

This is a new phase for the publication, but for the most part the way we do things is not changing - most importantly, all the writing and artwork we publish will still be available for free on our site, like it always has been. This is not a paywall or a subscription fee. It's a way for those who want to help us out financially to do so more easily than they could before, and to participate more directly in our radical community.

So please do have a read of the details over on our Steady page, and share it with friends, family or anyone else who you think might be interested. Whether or not you are able to offer us some financial support, we are extremely grateful for your continued participation in this little corner of radical independent media. The new year is a time of reflection as much as looking forward. We have looked back at the Radical's own highlights of the year as well as sharing recommendations for the great music and books that our team encountered in the past 12 months.

On top of this slate of year-in-review reflections, we rounded out 2021 with a review of Norwich's 'politico-panto' Robin Good from returning Arts Editor Ewa Giera, and a guide to current happenings in the independent media sector from Co-Editor Rowan Gavin. And we're excited to be starting 2022 with coverage of new work from some excellent radical creatives, including a double feature on Norwich band The Neutrinos (see Ananya's interview here and Rowan's gig review here) and a look at the scorching new play on the UK disability benefits system from Amie M Marie. 2021 was, for many of us, a strange and difficult year. As always, there is a great deal of work to be done in the year to come, to challenge the prevailing winds of lasting repression, growing authoritarianism and enforced precarity. With your support, we will continue to participate in that work in our own small way. We encourage you to do the same, however you are able.

In solidarity,
