Inch by inch

It seems there is no way of getting rid of the bumbling blonde buffoon or any of his racist, transphobic, pernicious cronies and their myriad donors - nor the royal family, for that matter, as we witnessed over a weekend-long display of Britain's continuing imperialism.
An exemplary combination of misogynist media, toxic parasocial relationships, public opinion influence and good old fashioned misinformation. And of course, a dangerous precedent for any survivor of abuse, and one emboldening horrific lawsuits already.
You may notice that it’s a fair bit longer than our standard articles. We’re allowing ourselves to occasionally move into the ‘long read’ space, and would love to hear any thoughts you have on that change.
Our co-editor Rowan Gavin also made sure to bring some hope in his recent interview with some of the team behind the protest music research project Our Subversive Voice:
The real currencies of change are hope, anger, conviction, the personal motivations that drive us towards working for a better life for our loved ones and those we share this world with. [...] The music we listen to changes how we think, how we perceive the world, how we move, how we are ourselves; in Street’s words, “we’re given forms of expression or forms of understanding that we might not have otherwise had through music”.
On that note, and to come full circle, allow us to recommend a 2019 track by Stormzy, from which the image above is taken.
