Hello 2017

We all know the role that the media plays in shaping politics - whether it be through scapegoating migrants, allowing corporate and state actors to evade blame for decisions that exacerbate inequality and hasten the onset of climate change, or whipping up Islamophobia.
In 2017, it's more important than ever that we start to build a new media - a media that is pluralistic; that challenges, rather than reinforces oppression and that holds decision makers to account.
That's why we're hosting our second Progressive Media Conference - War of Words on March 4th 2017, an event packed full of talks, workshops and discussions on how we can shape the future of the media in Britain and across the world.
We have just 10 days left to fund the conference. As little as £5 could really make all the difference in making sure the event goes ahead and is as big and as bold as it can be! Please consider donating to our crowdfunder.
We're also looking to expand our team this year, to help us put out more content and contribute even more to debates on politics and the arts. We're looking for new writers and editors to join our team. Find out what we're looking for and apply to join the team!
In solidarity,
The Norwich Radical Team
The Norwich Radical is a non-profit organisation, run exclusively by volunteers. Purchase some merch, or donate. All money goes back into running The Norwich Radical.
On Monday January 30th 5.30pm, we'll be running a workshop at the Union of UEA Students on how we can build a progressive media. More information coming soon!
