Calling all artists, cartoonists and illustrators

We are currently looking to recruit a new member of our contributor team who will be working as our in-house illustrator/artist/cartoonist.
We anticipate the role will require a commitment of roughly 1 illustration per fortnight, either published as a standalone submission or to accompany one of the articles from our regular contributors.
We do not require any specific medium or style, nor does the art need to be satirical or political in nature. Previous examples of illustrations appearing on our site have included single image commentary on contemporary issues, political cartoons, response pieces to news or world events, and personal art.
We do require a commitment to the values of The Norwich Radical, as laid out in our Founding Statement, from both the artist and the artwork.
The art will be published on the main site and on The Norwich Radical’s social media platforms, with a particular focus on Instagram. We do not retain exclusive rights to the art on publication. All rights will remain with the artist, though we operate the publication itself under an informal Creative Commons licence. This can be modified in agreement with the artist prior to publication.
The Norwich Radical is non-profit and run by volunteers. This means that we do not currently have the budget to pay for any contributor or editorial role but we are committed to the principle of paying contributors for their labour, and we are working to obtain the resources to do as much.
How to Apply
To apply for the role of illustrator at The Norwich Radical, please send a statement of no more than 750 words which addresses the brief, along with three samples of your art to show your range and style(s), to thenorwichradical@gmail.com. Please note that The Norwich Radical is not-for-profit and all writers and editors work on a voluntary basis.
We also request that candidates fill in and send this equal opportunities monitoring form, but this is not compulsory. The equal opportunities form will be separated and anonymised on receipt of your application.
We encourage applicants from marginalised backgrounds. Applicants do not have to be based in the UK.
Please return your statement, written work sample and equal opportunities monitoring form by midnight on Sunday 10th January. If you have any queries, email us at thenorwichradical@gmail.com.
Good luck and solidarity,
The Norwich Radical Editorial Team
