A Very British Coup

It's been just around a month since the rise of lying, corrupt Boris Johnson as the apparent leader of the UK - and less than a week since his boldest authoritarian action yet, supported by the monarchy, which to almost half of the country trying to stop the prorogation decision.
Sunetra Senior had attempted a read of the situation, just before everything escalated. It's worth taking a look at her researched assessment, as well as taking on some good advice from writer Musa Okwonga:
1. what resources exist so I can better educate myself?
2. who's already doing work around the injustice?
3. do I have the capacity to offer concrete support and help them?
4. how can I be constructive?
Research, don't expect news to be delivered to you, especially with Murdoch and his ilk telling us all to calm down.
As we write, the rest of the world is doing pretty badly too, and it's hard to find good news among the continuation of capitalism-induced genocide, deforestation, police brutality. Think about and read up on Kashmir, on Hong Kong, on the Amazon and Central Africa, on Aden, on Aotearoa New Zealand -- to name an unfortunate few.
But please remember: don't let it get you down, use it, stay informed, and stay angry. We need each other, we will need more of us in the coming months.
In solidarity,
