Subscriber It has been a couple of eventful months, and January definitely felt as though it lasted an entire year just by itself. But! We have finally reached the end of another month, and the first under the new Brexit reality, now that it has finally come to pass.

It's ...not going great. The news is extremely heavy for anyone who already has to deal with oppressive circumstances, and most media is still trying to spin things the way of the government and corporations (when not giving into fabricated panic about COVID-19, milking the US election circus, or talking about unnecessary offspring).

Meanwhile, serious threats to marginalised communities continue and increase their intensity - at home and abroad - from the nationalistic violence of India to the colonial corporation of Canada, via the rampant transphobia in US and UK, and the escalating anti-migrant and anti-Roma action in Greece, Hungary, and other European countries. Not forgetting the visible impact of the climate crisis in Antarctica and the African continent, with diseases and swarms spreading wildly and out of control.

To combat this rise in misinformation, lies, blindspots and corporate spin of mainstream media, we are once again recruiting new regular contributors for all of our sections: Inter|National, Arts, Community, Student, or Perspectives.

We are looking for pieces that can show important stories in a radical new light, or bring issues marginalised by mainstream media to the fore, with a specific focus on the themes and topics that the applicants’ chosen section specialises in.

Applicants will commit to writing an article of 600-1000 words in their section on a monthly or fortnightly basis.

We encourage applicants from diverse backgrounds. Applicants do not have to be based in Norwich, or in the UK.
