๐Ÿชฉ Happy New Year!

Header-Newsletter.png

The end of 2024 was a whirlwind for the Nonbinarian team as we opened a brick-and-mortar bookstore and determined new fundraising methods. Even as we all fear whatโ€™s to come in 2025, one thing is for certain: we arenโ€™t going anywhere.

Thatโ€™s entirely thanks to you, our incredible community, for showing up, showing out, and helping us build this project from the ground up over the last 2+ years. Our goal is to create the most inclusive, supportive space possible, and we continue to work toward that every day with the help of our volunteers and comrades.

Heading into a particularly frightening year, especially for multiply-marginalized folks, weโ€™ll continue to fight for the right to read, the right to freely access information, the right to self-determination, and more. The Nonbinarian was started as a means of building, securing, and celebrating trans+ futuresโ€”and we will never give up that fight.

In solidarity,
Samantha Puc, The Nonbinarian Book Club Coordinator & Newsletter Editor

Pink text surrounded by yellow sparkles says "Book Club Pick"

Letโ€™s kick off the new year with a vibrant look at queer history!

This month, we are reading Flamboyants: The Queer Harlem Renaissance I Wish Iโ€™d Known by George M. Johnson with illustrations by Charly Palmer. Join us on Friday, January 31 at 8 p.m. ET on Zoom to meet other club members and chat about the book! The Zoom link will be sent out on the day of the meeting.

The Nonbinarian Book Club: Monthly | Virtual | LGBTQIA+ is written in blue text above the book cover of Flamboyants by George M. Johnson, which is in a stylized frame. To the right of the book cover is a pink text bubble that reads, in white font, โ€œ$5 off your next purchase w/attendance.โ€ Below the book cover is the meeting information: Friday, January 31 at 8 p.m. ET. At the very bottom is a tag for @NonbinarianBike on Instagram. All of this is set against a pink, blue, and yellow gradient background with a pink, blue, and yellow wave from the left side to the bottom right corner.

The Nonbinarian Book Club is a monthly, virtual, queer and trans-focused book club. Attendees will receive $5 off their next purchase at The Nonbinarian Bookstore, in-store or online.* Meetings take place on the last Friday of each month and book club picks will be announced via the Nonbinarian Newsletter and social media on the 1st of each month.

If you prefer to listen to the audiobook, support indie bookstores and the Book Bike by purchasing through Libro.fm and selecting us as your store of choice!

*Our original book club partner, Bluestockings Cooperative, has announced an indefinite pause on special orders. As such, we are pausing our partnership for the time being. To continue to provide our community with a book discount on club titles, we are offering attendees a $5 voucher for use at the Nonbinarian Bookstore.
