โ Happy Holigays! ๐โ
As you may know, we unfortunately did not successfully fund our Kickstarter campaign, which means we received none of the donated funds. But the reason itโs taken us so long to get a newsletter to you all is because we opened the store anyway!
The Nonbinarian Bookstore is located at 1130 President Street in the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York!ย
After our grand opening on Friday, November 8 and an incredible opening weekend, our shelves are pretty bare, and we still need your help! With the Kickstarter funds, we hoped to place our initial orders; create an ADA accessible bathroom; build reserves for rent; and fund other store buildout projects. In lieu of Kickstarter, weโre offering streamlined rewards via Ko-Fi and Venmo through Tuesday, December 31st.
As a project, The Nonbinarian has been rooted in community, and truly none of our work would be possible without the support everyoneโs given over the past two years.
Thank you all for your support in helping us open a trans+ led, volunteer-powered, exclusively queer bookstore in Brooklyn.
โ The Nonbinarian Bookstore Co-Founders K., Jihye, & Alyssa, and the entire Nonbinarian team
To celebrate the opening of The Nonbinarian Bookstore, weโve launched a brand new Bonfire merch campaign featuring designs by local illustrator Bria Benjamin!
T-shirts and sweatshirts in sizes XS-5XL are available in a variety of colors and styles. Benjamin and the Nonbinarian earn a 50/50 split of the profits from this design.
Be sure to check out all of our merch this holigay season, including BOOK BUTCH and BOOK FEMME apparel for you or a loved one.
If you need recommendations for holiday gifts this year, look no further than our curated Bookshop.org booklists!
