Take that sense of — ‘Here’s where the beat is’ and listen again to John Bonham drive his way through the song like a drag racer — and how he almost retroactively turns Plant’s voice into a co-equal driving force with the two pauses he throws into the mix. It’s not a hair-metal band drum solo of a song, but the song wouldn’t be the same without Bonham.
